A Glimpse of Heaven
“My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.”
John 17:20-21 (NIV)

Arise and shine, dear one! God is with you!
In May of 2023 my family had the opportunity to visit Whistler, British Columbia, Canada. The mountains there are gorgeous! While in Canada on a Sunday, we made it a priority to visit a local church there. I wanted my children to glimpse the Global Church beyond the United States and our own home church. We loved our experience there and the joy found in worshiping together with other believers!
In John 17 we read the words of Jesus that He prayed at the Last Supper. He prays for His disciples and then in John 17:20-21 He prays for all the believers that would come to know Him through the disciple’s message. That means Jesus was praying for us in these verses. These were His last words at His last meal, and He prayed for us to be one so that the world would believe that Jesus was who He said He was. Jesus was praying for unity among believers for all generations!
Paul reminds us in Galatians 3:26 that we are “all children of God through faith in Christ Jesus.” In Revelation 7:9 we see that there “was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb.” That’s a beautiful picture of unity that we will all experience together in Heaven!
When believers in Jesus display unity with one another it is a powerful testimony to the world. Gather25 is February 28th – March 1st where for the first time ever the Global Church is gathering for 25 hours to worship, pray, repent, and hear stories of how God is moving across the earth. That sounds like the unity of believers that Jesus was praying for in John 17. Do you want to live out that unity, dear one? Do you want to get a glimpse of Heaven and see believers from all over the globe worshipping Jesus? Gather25 is an opportunity to do just that.
Visit the Gather25 website to learn more about how you can join virtually or in-person with others in your area.
