Be a Light from His Pumpkin Patch

“For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord.

The delight in my young son's eyes sparkled as we rode on hay bales around the pumpkin patch. I could hear him quietly singing the lyrics as he sat beside me…

Levi excitedly picked out his pumpkin to bring home and carve. There's always one final detail he treasures most: putting a light inside his pumpkin to shine brightly in the darkness.

In Ephesians, we're reminded that we were once full of darkness, but now we have the light from the Lord. That light isn't meant to be hidden. We are called to live as people of light!

As you visit the pumpkin patch this season, remember that you're specially picked from God's pumpkin patch. He removed the yucky stuff inside your heart and replaced it with His light. That light pierces the darkness.
