Better Together
“Two are better than one,
because they have a good return for their labor:
If either of them falls down,
one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls
and has no one to help them up.”
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 (NIV)

Arise and shine, dear one! God is with you!
"Josh, I need some help. There's something I can't reach. Can you come over here, please?"
My husband came to my rescue and discovered that the item I was searching for had fallen behind other things on the upper cabinet shelf in our kitchen, completely out of view and well beyond the reach of my short arms.
At just over five feet tall, I've had countless experiences at the store where a product sits on the top shelf, tucked far back, leaving me to scan the aisle for someone taller and approachable enough to ask for help. Sometimes we all need assistance, but help won't come if we don't ask for it.
We need each other! God designed us for community. We weren't meant to navigate the Christian life in isolation. The writer of Ecclesiastes reminds us of the benefit of having others to support us in our times of need. The author of Hebrews echoes this truth: "And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another" (Hebrews 10:24-25).
When you find yourself in need, who do you turn to for help, dear one? Do you have fellow believers around you who strengthen and build up your faith? If not, consider taking that step of faith to visit a local church. Pray for wisdom as you seek the best fit for you and your family, and remember, don't be afraid to ask for help.
Remember, the beauty of community isn't just in receiving help… it's also in being available to offer it. You may not realize how a simple "hello" to someone new at church may be exactly the warm welcome they needed. As you seek those who can lift you up, be ready to be the one who helps others reach what seems impossible.
