Arise and shine, dear one! God is with you!

It sounds really funny to think of God as having arms too short to accomplish His plans. With a five-year-old boy at home crazy about dinosaurs, I immediately picture a T-Rex (like the one from Toy Story) trying to pick up something with its teeny arms.

This morning as I was getting ready to start my day, my thoughts were not where they should be. I was having one of those moments of doubting God. Would He provide? Then my mind went down the trail of “What if…?”

God met me in my doubts with the Truth of His Word as He spoke to my heart.

“Is the Lord’s arm too short? Remember what I did with just five loaves of bread and two fish?”

Good one, God!

The verse in Numbers takes place when the people are in the wilderness demanding meat. God says He’ll provide meat for them for an entire month, but Moses doesn’t see how that could be possible. Moses’ eyes were only on what he could see and imagine in his own strength. He wasn’t picturing God’s infinite ability and resources.

God did exactly what He said He was going to do. “A wind sent by the Lord came up and blew quail in from the sea; it dropped them all around the camp. They were flying three feet off the ground for about a day’s journey in every direction.” (Numbers 11:31 CSB)

Even the disciples didn’t see how Jesus could feed the huge crowd of people, yet He fed over 5000 with just five barley loaves and two fish…and they collected twelve baskets of leftovers! (John 6:1 – 14)

God’s nature, character, and resources are so beyond the limitations of what we set in our minds. Are you doubting God’s ability in any area? Do you need Him to show up and can’t see how that will happen? Trust Him, dear one. His arms aren’t too short!
