It's Not Unknown to God

Arise and shine, dear one! God is with you!
"God, I can't see what lies ahead, and it's driving me nuts! This season of uncertainty is so hard. Why did you allow this to happen to us?"
I sat on a rock, overlooking a lush valley below, crying out to God in my frustration. My husband's recent layoff — the third one in less than two years — had shaken my sense of stability, and everything felt uncertain.
In that moment, I heard a quiet whisper in my heart: I'm growing your faith. Trust me. I have good plans.
My mind drifted to the definition of faith in Hebrews 11. It doesn't say faith is confidence in a reliable job, financial stability, or a future we can clearly see. Instead, "faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see."
There's something powerful that happens when we walk through seasons that test our faith. James 1:3-4 reminds us that "the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."
In this hard season of facing the unknown, I can see that God is actively growing my faith… building resilience and a deeper reliance on Him that produces perseverance. I won't come out of this the same person. My hope is that through each storm, my maturity and trust in God will continue to deepen.
How's your faith, dear one? What is your confidence resting in? Place your hope in the One who is never changing. He is a firm foundation we can build our lives on, and when the storms come, we can trust that He is walking with us, encouraging us to lean on Him. If you're in a season of uncertainty, take heart… it may feel unknown to you, but it is never unknown to God.
