The Perfect Time
“But when the right time came, God sent his Son, born of a woman, subject to the law. God sent him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that he could adopt us as his very own children.”
Galatians 4:4-5 (NLT)

Arise and shine, dear one! God is with you!
My mind was wandering as I completed my nightly task of straightening up and starting the dishwasher. Thoughts of the coming weeks and months, and questions about God's provision, swirled in my head. While clearing off the counter of my kids' latest creations, my eyes glanced down at one of their crafts from church. The phrase "God sent Jesus at the perfect time" was written inside a decorated frame.
Those words struck a chord in my heart, and a gentle sense of the Holy Spirit's presence surrounded me. God's timing was perfect throughout His Word, and His timing remains perfect today.
Whatever doubts I had were stilled in that moment as I reflected on Jesus' birth. God arranged every detail to fall into place so that prophecies foretold hundreds of years earlier would be fulfilled through Jesus. The location, timing, and circumstances of His arrival were sovereignly prepared by God with nothing left undone. From the stars in the sky to the shepherds keeping watch in a field nearby, God orchestrated how the birth of His Son would unfold.
Sometimes God's timing feels off to us. It may seem like He's forgotten about our prayers and the concerns we hold dear. We may ask ourselves, "What's taking Him so long?" It's likely those waiting for the Messiah had many of those same thoughts. Yet as we learn in Galatians, "when the right time came, God sent His Son."
What's on your heart today, dear one? In what situation are you waiting for God's perfect timing? Rest assured that He hasn't forgotten you. His track record throughout Scripture shows us He's never late. Just as God sent Jesus at exactly the right moment, not a day too early or too late, He is working in your life with that same perfect precision. Trust His timing, even when you can't see His plan.
