Arise and shine, dear one! God is with you!

I knew there was something different about her. When I dropped off my son at childcare at the gym, I noticed that one of the workers had a grace and kindness about her. The way she tenderly interacted with the children with extraordinary patience spoke to something deeper. I suspected that what was drawing my attention was something that my spirit was recognizing. When I picked up my son, I heard her talking about her church and I told her I thought she was a Christian. There was something radiating from her that showed she spent time with the Lord, and it was evident in her life.

In Exodus 34:28, we learn that Moses has spent forty days and forty nights with the Lord, without eating or drinking. He must have been sustained by God’s very Presence. When he came down from the mountain, Moses’ appearance was physically affected. His face was shining and everyone noticed! He was radiant because he had spoken with the Lord.

When we spend time walking with Jesus in His Word and in prayer, it should change us. As Paul writes in Galatians 5:22-23, there should be evidence of the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

What about you, dear one? Have you spent time with the Lord where it changed you? What’s different about you, because of the work of Jesus in your life? Maybe you recognize that you are more patient or have a peace about you that only God could provide. Spend time with Him today and shine the light of Jesus into the world! You might be surprised just who takes notice.
